URLs on F/U/C/Report/Awards Forms

Posted by Adia @ 2:58 am (link)

This is a announcement update of forms change for the General category.

Recently we have edited the Update Information, Closed, Report, and Awards forms to require that URLs be included exactly as listed on TFL when submitted. We have done this to help combat the large amount of spam we receive via the forms. This means that when submitting your Update, Closed, Report, or Award forms, you must give the fanlisting’s URL as it is currently listed in the database. If you are uncertain as to how the fanlisting is currently listed, please check the Approved pages for the fanlisting URLs. The forms do take into account URL trailing slashes, inclusion or exclusion of www, and exclusion of http://, so you should not receive errors in those situations.

We have also updated the Finished forms to require a valid e-mail address. If you receive an error when submitting a Finished form, please make sure that you were approved for a fanlisting using that e-mail address. Please check the Your FLs link for a list of fanlistings approved under your email address. (Obviously, the URL check does not apply to Finished forms!)

We hope this is not too much of a problem – the spam was getting ridiculous! :)

Support Us

TFL relies on donations and advertising to keep running. There are several ways you can help! Make a donation and get access to the TFL donators package, buy something from the TFL Store or visit our advertisers. We also have a banner rotation for fanlistings and fansites. Every bit helps! Did You Know?

If you've found a fanlisting that says it is approved by TFL but it isn't listed here it is possible that the site has just not been added to the list yet, you can always contact the staffer and ask them what is going on. It is also possible that the fanlisting was once approved by us, but for one reason or another it was removed due to a rules violation. There are, however, lots of fanlistings out there that haven't actually been approved by us. That doesn't mean they shouldn't exist, it just means they won't be added to this site - either because a fanlisting for that subject already exists, or the owner hasn't even applied to be listed! :)
