IMPORTANT:Due to a problem with the mail servers, we are unable to update any categories at the moment. The network has grown so big that all the updating is damaging the server we’re on, and until we decide what to do or where to move, we cannot update any categories, as so to not make this problem any worse. • Your fanlisting must be officially approved by TheFanlistings Network.
• When applying for a fanlisting, please include the subject and category of your fanlisting. I’ve now updated the form to include a field for this. It is required.
• Please do not apply when your fanlisting is on hiatus or when it has not reached the minimum of 250 members. Your application will be deleted. Feel free to reapply when your fanlisting has reopened or you have gained more members.
• If your fanlisting has moved, please also fill out an Update form. Any changes to your URL that I list in the Awards section WILL NOT update your listing in the fanlistings database.

We are currently on the lookout for a new staffer for the Fanfiction category. Despite having over 100 volunteers on file, we are advertising the position individually because it requires specialised knowledge.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in fanfiction and an in-depth knowledge of fanfiction terminology and themes, authors, stories, characters, etc. on top of the normal requirements for staff members (see here for a full list.) It would also be a bonus if you were familiar with at least some of the popular fanfiction fandoms, such as Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

If you think you would be a suitable candidate, please read through the requirements thoroughly and then email me at info@thefanlistings.org before July 11, with your name, age, email address and URL, telling us exactly why you think you would be suitable for the position. The Comedians category has now been dissolved and all fanlistings previously listed under this category have been merged into existing categories, mainly Actors, Actresses and TV & Radio Personalities. All owners have been contacted and staffers have been notified of changes. There are a lot of upcoming fanlistings for which finished forms were not received, although these were approved in January. It is up to the individual staffer for the new category as to how they deal with these fanlistings. All updates archives for Comedians have been moved into the Actors archives, for reference.

All applications sent to Comedians will be forwarded to the appropriate category to be processed.

The server move is complete, although it didn’t go very smoothly and took a bit longer than we’d hoped. However, we did not lose any databases, emails or updates, so there should be no inconvience on your part. Please feel free to start sending in forms and emails again.

The Reality TV category is being dissolved. All applications have been received and will be transferred to the appropriate category — either TV Shows or TV/Radio Personalities. No more applications are being received for this category. For your reference, reality shows should be applied for in the TV Shows category and people from these shows should be applied for in the TV/Radio Personalities category.

As some of you may have already noticed, there is now a little navigation bar on every Current and Upcoming page, consisting of all the letters in the alphabet, and the number 1 through 9. When you click on any one of them, you will be taken down to the page to where the fanlistings that start with that letter or number are. On the pages with subcategories, you will be taken to the subcategories that start with that letter or number.
We have implemented this after suggestions from visitors and staff members, hopefully this will make it a bit easier to navigate the (sometimes really long) Current and Upcoming pages.

I apologize in advance for posting something that’s more personal than fanlistings-related here, but I need to contact a lot of people, and I know posting it here means many will read it.
I run the fanlistings exchange Fans Fans Fans, and I know many of you were members of it. When I last checked, it had over 450 members.
Unfortunately, something went wrong last week, and corrupted the MySQL tables the exchange uses. I have no idea what happened, but I couldn’t fix it. I had to install a new exchange script, and start from scratch.
This is a message to everyone who was a member: please visit http://fans.nothing-less.net to sign up again and get your new code. The old code is currently giving error messages on your pages, and it will continue to do so. So please sign up again and get a proper, working code.

I’m back from my vacation to Boston, USA, and I had an awesome time! Unfortunately, I’m only home for a day. My grandma passed away Saturday night, and I’m flying home to be with my family and to be there for the funeral tomorrow morning. I won’t be back until Saturday evening, so there will be no updates from me for a while again. I apologize to everyone who has emailed me and is waiting for a response.

There have been some updates to the Rules:

New Rule – applies to all fanlistings, new and old:
You must have a ‘last updated’ date on the intro page of your site.
If we can’t easily tell when the fanlisting was updated last, then your site may end up on the troubles list when it shouldn’t be. Also, this will help prevent members from applying numerous times – if they can see you haven’t updated since they applied, they will be less likely to submit another join form.

If you don’t already have a last updated or updates section on your fanlisting, please take care of this ASAP! Thanks!

Amendment added to Rule #10:
You are free to apply to run as many fanlistings as you can handle.
There is no limit to the amount of fanlistings you can have. Just make sure you’ll still have enough time and energy to give each fanlisting the attention it deserves. Don’t apply for a fanlisting if you think you won’t have the time to complete or maintain it.
NOTE: The staff has the right to deny applications based on a history of overdue fanlistings, unreasonable requests for extensions, a history of not keeping fanlistings updated, or any other problems previously experienced with the applicant.
