Good news! After several test e-mails, TFL e-mails are finally getting where they belong! We are expecting TFL updates to get back up and running shortly. We do apologise for the extended delay with resolving this issue – as Ally said earlier, we were waiting to hear back from e-mail providers and were unable to hurry them along. The senior staff is very grateful to Ally for all her work on this issue!

A warning to all Hotmail.com users – while e-mail is getting through, Hotmail is placing the e-mail into the “Junk Mail” folder. Please be sure to check your Junk Mail folder regularly for TFL mail! Should you find any TFL e-mail in the junk folder, you will need to select “Not Junk” on the e-mail to ensure future e-mail is sent straight to the Inbox.

Staffers will be re-sending e-mail to Hotmail.com users that was sent in early April (before we realised TFL was being blocked).

It will be good to be back up and running again; we have all missed the updates! Be prepared for a busy updating period! :)

It has been brought to our attention that mail to hotmail.com, for some accounts, has been bouncing back to TFL with the notice that hotmail.com is blocking it. As hotmail.com is a huge e-mail service, we are holding all TFL updates until we can have TFL unblocked. The senior staff is also currently looking into confirming with other large free e-mail hosts (Gmail; Yahoo) that the Network is not being black-listed.

All TFL updates are being held. Please do not worry about troubled fanlistings being removed or whether your form has gotten through at this stage. Once we have figured out and resolved the e-mail problems, forms will likely be re-sent, or we will have a leniancy period for those e-mail addresses that have recently had problems.

We apologise for these recent problems, we’ve been rather surprised by them too. We will update you as we gather more data about the problems, as well as what solutions we will be seeking (there are several that are free, but a few that may cost the Network financially). Thank you for your patience!

Hello everyone! I’m posting this on behalf of myself and Allison, the N-Z applications staffer.

Due to recent complaints about unreleased songs being approved, the Songs: Bands/Groups categories will be enforcing a new policy.

When applying for a song in either Songs: Bands/Groups category, all applicants must use the More Info box. Please include any and all information on the song such as: alternative band or song names, release dates of the album or single the song appears on, country of origin, and links to sites that have official tracklistings and/or lyrics.

Even if you believe the song you are applying for is well known, please include something just in case. Doing this will help out the applications staffers immensely and make approvals go faster. The staffers have the right to email applicants to ask for more information. This will be fully exercised from now on if applicants fail to provide any useful information and the staffers cannot find information on their own within a short period of time.

Songs: Bands/Groups has always been a large and popular category and due to the backlogs that such a large category can sometimes acquire, we have split the category into two smaller categories, divided by the alphabet.

The two new categories are Songs: Bands/Groups 0-M which lists songs performed by bands or groups that have names beginning with numbers or the letters A-M and Songs: Bands/Groups N-Z which lists songs performed by bands or groups that have names beginning with the letters N-Z.

Because the category is now split alphabetically, please make sure that you look under the appropriate category when checking whether or not a song has been approved. So, if you are looking for songs by “The Cure”, they will be listed within the Songs: Bands/Groups 0-M category under “Cure, The”. Alternatively, if you are looking for songs by “A Perfect Circle”, they will be listed within the Songs: Bands/Groups N-Z category under “Perfect Circle, A”.

- When applying for a song, please put the title of the song in the subject field and the band or group in the subcategory field. This makes sorting applications easier and the approvals process faster.

- When applying for a song, please provide information about the song in the more information box (especially if it is a song by an obscure band/group, asian band/group, etc.). Links to official sites of the band, lyrics sites, and fansites are a big help.

- When applying for a song, please do not use the comments box to ask me about other things, such as deleting another application, asking if you were approved for another fanlisting, etc. Use the contact form for inquiries.

- Please remember that collaborations (ie. Missy Elliott featuring Ludacris: Gossip Folks) and songs recorded specifically for soundtracks belong in Songs: Various.

- Please utilize the TFL message board as much as possible. You will get a faster reply if you inquire on the board instead of through email or contact forms.
